Heavy rain warning remains in force for Viti Levu, Vanua Levu and rest of the Fiji Group

A heavy rain warning remains in force for Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Lau, Lomaiviti group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands and is now in force for the rest of Fiji. 

The Nadi Weather Office has confirmed that a Tropical Depression lies just about 67km East- Southeast of Labasa or about 20km South-Southwest of Taveuni at 2pm Today. 

It adds that the Tropical Depression is expected to gradually move Northwards between Vanua Levu and Taveuni with the associated rain bands affecting the country till later Sunday. 

A flood warning is now in force for small streams and low lying areas adjacent to the Waimanu Station that includes, the Waimanu Pumping Station, Sawani, Waila, Navuso and downstream the Waimanu River. 

A flood alert remains in force for low lying areas, small streams and areas downstream of Nabukelevu Station that include, Nabukelevu, Sabata, Raiwaqa, Navua town and areas in Navua, and adjacent to major rivers for Vanua Levu and Viti Levu.
