A river flood warning remains in force for the Nadi River and Tuva River in Nadroga and Nawaka River as the level is above warning levels.

The Nadi Weather Office says a flash flood warning remains in force for Viti Levu while a flash flood alert remains in force for the rest of Fiji.

A heavy rain and strong wind warnings remain for the whole of Fiji.

Category 3 Tropical Cyclone Vaianu was located about 260km southwest of Kadavu or 360km southwest of Suva at 3am.

TC Vaianu is currently moving south-southwest at about 20km per hour and is expected to lie 410km south of Kadavu or 510km south of Suva this morning.

At its current path, it is expected to continue moving south of Fiji and leave Fiji waters by tonight.

Expect flash flooding of flood prone low-lying informal settlements and communities, businesses and Irish Crossings leading to traffic disruptions.

Also expect surface flooding on streets in urban areas with poor drainage.

There will also be wet roads and reduced visibility, especially during heavy rain, increasing the risk of road accidents.

If you live in a flood prone area, please move to an evacuation centre or to higher ground.

Also ensure that you have taken all the necessary precautions for you and your family.
