In an effort to spread the festive joy, the Fiji Police Force will be conducting their community policing through music program in the Western Division.

Director Community Policing SSP Waqa Cavuilati says that the program has so far been a success in the East and some parts of the South.

He adds that Police aim to raise awareness on critical issues often encountered during the festive season with a policing twist.

He says that the Community Policing through music program will begin at Navutulevu Village on Monday where members of the Fiji Police Band and the Western Division Community Policing team are expected to spread festive joy.

Cavuilati says that after the completion of the Eastern Division program yesterday the Police Band will spend the coming week visiting selected locations in the Western Division.

He says that apart from the villages Police will be visiting Treasure Home, Loloma Home, Old Peoples Home in Lautoka and the Band will have some quick displays in the city and town areas.

Cavuilati also highlighted that it is not often that Police get to speak directly to children outside of the school environment, so to have them present in numbers is great because it's an opportunity to not only speak to them but to their parents who are present.

He says that on Monday they begin their tour in the Western Division in Sigatoka at the villages of Navutulevu, Namatakula, Nadraumai, Semo, Rukurukulevu and Cuvu Naidovi.

The Community policing through music team will also be moving to the Northern Division soon.
