A parcel containing a white substance has been discovered on an island in the Lau Group, with Police now investigating the matter.
Police say the package was found by a woman and her daughter after they returned from a fishing trip on Saturday.
The parcel has been collected and is now in Police custody, while the substance is yet to be tested.
Police are thanking community members for quickly reporting the discovery and they are reminding the public not to handle suspicious packages.
Anyone who finds a suspicious package or observes suspicious maritime activity is urged to contact the nearest Police Station or call 1681.
