Portia Woodman-Wickliffe has announced her retirement from international rugby, bringing an end to a legendary career after briefly returning for last year’s Rugby World Cup.
A double Women’s Rugby World Cup champion (2017, 2022), Sevens World Cup winner, Olympic gold and silver medallist, and Commonwealth Games medallist, she leaves the game as the Black Ferns’ highest try-scorer in both sevens and 15s.
She was also named World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year in 2015 and Women’s Player of the Year (15s) in 2017.
Woodman-Wickliffe, who comes from a proud rugby family, says she is grateful for the chance to represent her country one last time and is ready for the next chapter of her life.
