Manchester City have won the Carabao Cup after defeating Arsenal in the final at Wembley Stadium.
City ended Arsenal’s hopes of a historic quadruple with a dominant second-half performance, highlighted by two quick goals from Nico O’Reilly.
The breakthrough came just after the half-time break when O’Reilly opened the scoring with a header and he struck again just four minutes later to double City’s lead.
Manager Pep Guardiola celebrated on the touchline as his side took control of the match, and the result sees Guardiola become the first manager to win the EFL Cup five times.
It was a disappointing outcome for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal, who were aiming for their first trophy since the FA Cup in 2020.
