Fiji WATER Flying Fijians flanker and French-based player Levani Botia scored another try for his La Rochelle side, guiding them to a 41-19 thrashing of Bayonne during the Top 14 Competition yesterday.
The hitman continues to show that he has enough gas to contest a position for next year’s Rugby World Cup.Botia, who came on as a first-minute replacement, did not disappoint and crossed the try line, displaying sheer power and experience.
Veteran winger Jack Nowell and his youthful counterpart on the other side of the pitch, Nathan Bollengier, each scored twice as La Rochelle handed manager Ronan O’Gara and their fans an early seven-try Christmas present by beating an abject Bayonne 41-19.
In their last outing at Stade Marcel Deflandre in 2025, La Rochelle ended a three-match Top 14 losing streak in emphatic style, provisionally climbing into the top six for the holidays.
