Leading Skipper Select XV a major milestone for Vosayaco

Nadroga captain Sakiusa Vosayaco has been given the opportunity to lead the Skipper Select XVs in their much anticipated match against Fiji's Super Rugby side, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua, this Friday.

Vosayaco says leading the side against the Fijian Drua marks a major milestone in his rugby journey.

He says it is the first time a team like Skipper Select has had the chance to face the Drua, and he is grateful for the opportunity to captain the side.

Vosayaco adds that the match is a valuable platform for local players to showcase their talent at a high level.


He highlights that it is a great opportunity not just for him, but for the whole team, and believes it will open doors.


He says they are not taking the match against the Drua lightly, as the clash will help them prepare for other games this year.


He shares that he is grateful and the boys had the chance to grow and compete in the Skipper Cup and Farebrother Trophy last year.


He adds that the match is scheduled for this Friday and is expected to draw strong interest from local rugby fans.


Vosayaco is calling on supporters across the country to come out in numbers and back the team, saying this is the people’s team, representing local players and the nation.


He thanked fans for their continued support and urged them to rally behind the side as they prepare for the big clash.


The Fijian Drua will take on Skipper Select at 4pm this Friday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
