The Fiji Kulas, have launched their FIFA Women's World Cup – Oceania Qualifiers campaign in commanding style, thrashing the New Caledonia women's national football team 5–0 in their opening Group B clash at 4R Stadium, Govind Park.
The women's national football team wasted no time asserting their dominance, racing to a 4–nil lead by half-time in front of an enthusiastic home crowd in Ba, courtesy of a goal from Trina Davis, a brace from Sofi Diyolowai and a strike by Cema Nasau.
The Kulas maintained their intensity after the restart, continuing to press and create chances, with substitute Sonia Alfred adding the fifth goal to seal the victory.
The emphatic win puts Fiji in a strong early position in Group B as they pursue their qualification ambitions.
The team now shifts its focus to Monday’s crucial encounter against Papua New Guinea, followed by a fixture against Vanuatu next Thursday.
