Fiji FACT tournament faces venue uncertainty

The BIC Fiji FACT tournament, set to take place at Subrail Park, Labasa, is facing potential disruption.

While pool matches are confirmed for the 19th, 20th, and 21st of June, the Fiji Football Association has raised concerns over the venue for the semi-finals and final matches scheduled for the 26th and 27th of June, as the Labasa Town Council has given preference to allow a private wedding booking during that period.

The Association has also secured the HFC Bank Stadium as a backup in case the issue is not resolved.

Fiji FA Chief Executive Officer, Mohammed Yusuf says that the matter will be formally raised with the government, emphasising that hosting the BIC Fiji FACT in Labasa would bring far greater benefits than allowing a private event.

Yusuf stressed that if the issue remains unresolved, the semi-finals and final will be moved to the HFC Bank Stadium.
