Despite finishing in third place at the HSBC SVNS Vancouver 7s, the Fiji Airways Men's National 7s side is tied in first place with South Africa in the World 7s Series points table with 86 points.
Fiji went down 24-17 to Spain in the semi-finals but managed to pull through in the third-place playoff, beating Australia 29-10.
South Africa, who were undefeated in the tournament, dominated Spain in the final, winning 38-12, after scoring six tries to Spain’s two.
In the standings, New Zealand is third with 70 points, Australia is fourth with 68 points, while France is fifth with 64 points.
The next tournament is in New York this weekend.
