Fiji Airways Men's National 7s Coach, Osea Kolinisau says they have identified key areas to improve ahead of the Hong Kong Sevens as they look to reclaim their dominance.
Kolinisau highlighted this to fijivillage Sports at Albert Park, saying Hong Kong is no longer just another stop on the circuit, but a championship on its own.
He says tackling is one of the main areas they are working on, with players encouraged to focus on completing tackles rather than going for big hits.
He says that improving one-on-one defence and overall defensive organisation, including communication, is also a priority after gaps were exposed in previous matches.
He says kick-offs, which have traditionally been a strength, have recently become a concern, with handling errors against Spain and Argentina leading to tries.
Kolinisau says a new competition format and qualification for the next season is also on the line.
