The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua heads into this week’s match against the Hurricanes at Churchill Park in Lautoka, looking to respond after a difficult start to the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season.
The Drua are currently sitting in last place on the points table after Round 2 of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific Competition.
The Drua kicked off their campaign with a 40–26 home loss to Moana Pasifika at Churchill Park, where they showed attacking intent but were ultimately outplayed in defence, particularly in the second half.
Following that result, they again found themselves on the wrong end of the scoreboard in last week's
36–13 defeat to the NSW Waratahs, with head coach Glen Jackson noting the impact of short turnarounds and travel on his squad’s performance.
Despite the tough results, the Drua have used these opening rounds to give opportunities to a mix of experienced leaders and exciting younger players looking to stake their claim.
The Hurricanes edged out the Drua 38–34 in a high-scoring battle in Napier last year.
The Drua has had success against the Hurricanes when they beat them in Suva in 2023.
For the Drua, this home clash in Lautoka offers a vital chance to arrest the early season slide.
The Drua play the Hurricanes at 3.35pm this Saturday.
On Friday, Moana Pasifika will play Force at 6.05pm, and the Reds will play the Highlanders at 8.35pm.
On Saturday, the Chiefs will face the Crusaders at 6.05pm while the Brumbies will take on the Blues at 8.35pm.
