Setback for Drua as Murray is ruled out for two weeks due to injury

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua has received a setback after young mobile flanker Motikiai Murray was ruled out for due to an ankle injury he suffered against Moana Pasifika last week.

Coach Glen Jackson says Murray will be out for probably two weeks and they hope he will be back soon.

Murray left the field early against Moana Pasifika in the 17th minute of the game.

He says other than Murray’s injury, there are no major injuries in camp but just a few bumps and bruises, and everyone is good to contest for a spot in the matchday 23 squad this weekend.

When speaking about their crucial match against the Reds this Saturday, Jackson says the team has enjoyed playing the Reds over the last few years as they are a quality team, and the way they play sort of suits the Drua in terms of looking to play rugby.

Jackson further says there will be a few changes in this weekend’s squad as they are obviously in a process where they still want to win games, but also want to have an opportunity to see players in a few different positions.

He adds it is important that they give the fans what they want with the three back-to-back games at home.

The Drua will take on the Reds at 2.05pm Saturday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

In other matches this week, the Blues will host the Force at 7.05pm Friday, the Hurricanes will take on the Chiefs at 7.05pm Saturday, the Brumbies will take on the Waratahs at 9.35pm Saturday, and the Highlanders will take on Moana Pasifika at 3.35pm Sunday.
