The Digicel Bula Boys kicked off their Pacific Games 2023 campaign on a high with a 10-0 thrashing of Northern Mariana’s Island last night.

Captain Roy Krishna led by example scoring hat trick while Sairusi Nalaubu scored two goals.

Fiji led 6-0 at halftime.

Nabil Begg set the pace with a stunning goal in the first minute while Etonia Dogalau, Thomas Dunn, Gabrielle Matanisiga, and an own goal earlier added to their commanding performance.

Despite the brilliant win, Krishna says the team needs to be patient with the ball where in the final third, they rushed with the ball.

He says due to an early goal all players wanted to be on the score sheet but they have to be patient about it.

Roy says as a striker it was his responsibility to score goals as he was at the place at the right time.

The Bula Boys will play Tahiti 8pm Tuesday in their second pool match while the Digicel Fiji Kulas will play Vanuatu in their first pool match at 4pm Tuesday.
