The Nadroga side will need to lift their game in Round 2 of the Skipper Cup competition this week, following a few injuries sustained in last week’s match against Macuata.
Speaking to fijivillage Sports, head coach Ratu Baleirara says Vatukoula is a strong team, and the players cannot afford to lose focus during preparations.
Ratu Baleirara says for this year’s team, the Nadroga Rugby Union has decided to select players from the club competitions, as well as from Yako Village, the coastal areas of Nadroga, and up the valley road.
He says it makes sense to have players from within the province showcase their rugby talents.
Ratu Baleirara also highlighted players like Alifereti Nainoca, who plays on the wing, as good examples of talent identified through the club system.
Nadroga will take on Vatukoula at Garvey Park this Saturday at 3pm.
In other matches, Nadi will face Macuata, Suva will meet Lautoka, Tailevu will take on Naitasiri and Malolo will face Ba.
All matches will be held at 3pm.
