Kadavu has created history by winning the Vodafone Vanua Trophy Championship in their first ever final beating Navosa 23-17 in Lawaqa Park this afternoon.
From the opening whistle, Navosa attacked through their forwards, while Kadavu relied on quick passes and tactical kicking to gain territory.

Setting the tone early, Viliame Navoka powered over the try line to score the first try for Navosa, giving his side an early 5–0 lead.

After 20 minutes of play, Savenaca Drurusolo slotted a penalty to bring Kadavu closer, narrowing the score to 5–3.

Former Fiji Water Flying Fijian and 7s star Semi Kunatani bulldozed his way through the defence to extend Navosa’s lead to 10–3 midway through the first half.

Kadavu had some discipline issues receiving two yellow cards to Vulavou Kuruvoli and Samuela Nagatalevu.

Navosa led 10-3 at the break.

Kadavu bounced back in the second half scoring first through Viliame Tivau making it 10-8 to Kadavu.

Early in the second half, Kadavu caught up to lead 15–10 after a determined attacking effort.

Just four minutes later, Drurusolo converted another penalty kick to extend Kadavu’s lead to 18–10.

Viliame Navoka responded for Navosa with another try, heating up the contest for Kadavu.

Only two minutes later, Kadavu captain Vaione Tegu crossed over for another try, pushing Kadavu further ahead at 23–17.

With six minutes remaining before full time, tension was high as both teams battled fiercely for control.

In the final minute, Navosa was awarded a penalty that led to a scrum, but Kadavu held firm and kicked the ball out to seal the win.
