Fiji Rugby Union CEO, John O’Connor says they have already contacted the respective clubs of overseas-based players about their release for Fiji’s historic back to back test matches against the All Blacks.
O’Connor says there are also plans to travel to New Zealand to prepare for the test matches.
He says they are focusing on the overseas based players due to the current COVID situation faced in Fiji however he says they have advised the potential local based players to continue their training.
The All Blacks have played Fiji nine times before, but not since 2011 in what was the final Test match at Carisbrook in Dunedin.
The first match against Fiji was in Suva in 1974, with the All Blacks pipping the home side that day 14-13.
Fiji plays the All Blacks on the 10th and the 17th of July in New Zealand.
