An 18-year-old sprinter from Lami High School is letting her feet do the talking as she chases both victory and pride for her family at this year’s Lami High School inter-house athletics competition held in Lami.

Losalini Leba says her motivation is simple, to make her parents proud.

Leba has already made an impressive start, clocking 13.91 seconds to win the opening 100 metres race heats yesterday.

She says she did not expect to finish first but is happy to be able to take part.

As the inter-house competition continues today, attention now turns to the remaining long-distance events, including the 1,500 metres and 3,000 metres races.
