18 new players have joined the Fiji Airways Men's National 7s extended squad in preparation for the first leg of the 2022 HSBC 7s Series.

Absent from the training session today was Jerry Tuwai but he is expected to join the team later.

Some familiar faces seen in training today were Terio Tamani, Livai Ikanikoda, Kavekini Tabu, Joseva Talacolo and Josua Vakurunabili.

Some of the 7s players that won gold in Tokyo have now joined the Fijian Drua and they include Napolioni Bolaca, Kalione Nasoko and Meli Derenalagi.

Interim Coach Saiasi Fuli says he is confident these players can deliver when they play in the World 7s Series.

Fuli adds the new players were chosen from the Fiji 7s series that was held earlier in the year.

The 2022 HSBC 7s Series will kick off with back to back Dubai tournaments.
