Tulo wins Fiji 3 gold medals in weightlifting

Fiji’s weightlifting sensation, Manueli Tulo got Fiji’s Pacific Mini Games campaign off to a good start winning three gold medals in the Men’s 56kg last night.

Tulo won the Men’s 56kg Snatch and Clean and Jerk.

He had a combined total of 238.

Poama Qaqa also won three silver medals in the Men’s 62kg and Arieta Mudunavoce won three bronze medals in the Women’s 53kg.

Looking at the Pacific Mini Games medal tally, PNG lead with 9 gold, Fiji is second with 3 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals while Marshall Islands is third with 3 gold medals.

The weightlifting competition will continue at 11 this morning.

The Men’s 69kg, 77kg and 85kg will be held today. The Women’s 69kg and 75kg will also be held today.

Fiji Men’s soccer team will also face Solomons Island in their second game at 6pm today.

In the Rugby 7s competition, the Team Fiji Men’s 7s team will play their first game against Nauru at 8pm Friday.

Fiji will then face Vanuatu at 10.20pm Friday in their second match.

The medal quarterfinals will start at 4pm Saturday, medal semifinals at 7.10pm Saturday while the Gold Medal final will be at 9.55pm Saturday.
