Defending Colonial Cup champion Coastal Stallions and last year losing finalist Western Crusaders are both now faced with a must win situation to stay in the hunt for a semi-final spot.

The Stallions suffered an upset 18-14 loss yesterday to the Sharks and will need to beat the Crusaders on Thursday night to book a semi-final spot.

On the other hand the Crusaders after recording a 39-12 win against the Roosters also face with the same situation if they want to be in the semi-final.

Since the inception of the Colonial Cup in 2004 both sides have always played in the semi-final and history will be created this year.

Looking at the points table the Highlanders are the first side to book a place in the semi-final with 14 points and are closely followed in second place by the Sharks on 11 points.

Stallions are at 3rd place with 11 points.

The Highlanders will host the Sharks next Saturday while the Knights who are at 4th spot with 10 points will take on the Roosters.
