Sagone wins first Gold medal for Fiji at the Commonwealth Youth Games
Ulina Sagone (left) has won Fiji’s first gold medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games.

Ulina Sagone has won Fiji’s first gold medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa.

Sagone scored 62kg in the snatch and 74kg in the clean and jerk equalling 136kg to win gold.

Meanwhile Kameli Ra-vuci and Apolosi Koroi are through to the next round of eliminations in the 400 metres.

Ruvuci finished his race in a time 49.46 seconds and Koroi ran a time of 49.83 seconds.

The eliminations will take place today at 12.30pm.

Meanwhile, the Sevens competition will start tomorrow. Fiji is represented in both the Women’s and Men’s sevens competition.
