Ratu Filise has also qualified to the semifinals after defeating Sigatoka Young Boys 7-5 in the last quarterfinal of the McDonalds Coral Coast 7s Youth Competition.

Ratu Filise started off well with a try from Ravue Akuila in the first half but went cold during the second spell.

Their defence formation was one of the key areas that had a great impact in their win.

Sigatoka Young Boys came back with a try in the second half from Veresa Ramotabua but it was too late as Ratu Filise showed off good defensive skills to hold their Sigatoka rivals at bay.

In the other quarterfinals, defending champion Tuva thrashed Gaunavou 29-5, Ravuka Sharks defeated King 7s Select 14-5 and Vueti Cakau defeated KISSP Investment Wesley Fijians 14-12.

In the semifinal, Tuva will take on Ravuka Sharks at 2.38pm and Vueti Cakau will battle Ratu Filise at 2.58pm.

The youth final will be at 6.15 tonight.

The Women’s competition starts today and ends tomorrow while the Men’s competition will be from tomorrow to Saturday.

You can catch the live commentaries of the men’s quarter finals from 11.20am, semifinals from 2.50pm and final from 5pm Saturday on our sister station Viti FM 92.2FM, 92FM and 92.6FM.
