Lions lead the Super Rugby overall points table

The Lions have taken the lead in the Super Rugby overall points table after round eight.

The South African based side is leading with 25 points, the Crusaders are in second place with 24 points, the Rebels are in third place with 20 points while the Hurricanes are currently in fourth place with 23 points.

Meanwhile, in the match results of round eight, the Crusaders beat the Jaguares 40‑14 while the Chiefs secured their fifth successive Super Rugby victory when they beat the Blues 21- 19, the Waratahs beat the Sunwolves 50‑29, the Brumbies defeated the Reds 45‑21, the Lions beat the Stormers 52‑31 while the Hurricanes beat the Sharks 38‑37.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs will play the Hurricanes at 7.35pm this Friday.

In other matches, the Sunwolves will take the Blues at 3.05pm Saturday, the Rebels will play the Jaguares at 5.15pm Saturday, Highlanders will take on the Brumbies at 7.45pm Saturday while Waratahs will face the Reds at 9.45pm Saturday.

The Sharks will play the Bulls at 2.15am Sunday.
