Former Nasinu Secondary School student and one of NRL's best finishers Marika Koroibete is living his dream of representing Fiji in his first ever Rugby League World Cup.
The West Tigers wing said his humble up-bringing has inspired him to sacrifice a lot as he thinks about the struggles faced while growing up.
Koroibete who hails from Naraiyawa in Namosi said he knows what life in the village is like and he will try to make his family and country proud in this year's World Cup.
Koroibete recalls how he used to wake up at 3am everyday for his road run while boarding at Nasinu Secondary School.
He added that he would have been a police officer if he was not offered a contract from the West Tigers.
The 21 year old scored three tries for the Vodafone Fiji Bati last week against the Fiji Residents in a warm up match.
The Vodafone Fiji Bati left our shores this morning and the Rugby League World Cup kicks off on the 27th of this month with Fiji taking on Ireland in their first match on the 29th at 7am.
Fiji is pooled with the Australian Kangaroos, England and Ireland.
