Legendary former Blues coach Phil Gould says the New South Wales Blues will miss James Maloney's experience during Wednesday's Origin opener.
Blues coach Brad Fittler dropped Maloney and opted to go with debutant Cody Walker after a stellar season for the Rabbitohs.
In the week he was not included in the NSW State of Origin squad, Maloney hit a field goal, one penalty and converted both of the Panthers’ tries while also creating opportunities with his running game.
State of Origin Game 1 between the NSW Blues and Queensland Maroons kicks off at 10pm this Wednesday.
