In another match the Rebels took full advantage of their season opening Super Rugby clash over the Reds claiming a 45‑19 win.
New Reds skipper Scott Higgin-botham was sent off for a dangerous shoulder charge after just nine minutes.
It was a reckless act from Higginbotham who was clearly pumped up to make an early physical statement.
In today’s games the Sunwolves takes on the Brumbies at 4.15pm, defending champions the Crusaders will play the Chiefs at 6.35pm, while the Waratahs will host the Stormers at 8.45pm.
Tomorrow the Lions play the Jaguares at 1.05am and the Bulls will take on the Hurricanes at 3.15am.
