Suva soccer goalkeeper Tevita Koroi says the road back into the national soccer team was hard after he failed to make the team for the Rio Olympics last year.

Koroi who is originally from Tailevu but grew up in Ba played for Fiji at the 2015 Pacific Games and saved the crucial penalty in the final that helped Fiji qualify for Rio.

Koroi says he has wondered if he could ever get the chance to play for Fiji again.

His impressive performance for Suva in the Vodafone Fiji FACT caught the eyes of national coach, Christophe Gamel.

Koroi is expected to make his debut for Fiji tomorrow.

Fiji will play Solomon Islands at 7pm tomorrow at the ANZ Stadium while the second match will be played at 3pm this Sunday at Churchill Park and you can catch the live commentaries of both matches on our sister station, Radio Sargam.
