Dewan Chand is no longer a Vice President of the Fiji Football Association.
This was confirmed by Acting Fiji FA President, Sheik Ibrahim after Fiji FA’s Annual congress last night.
Chand charged with two counts of defilement of a Class eight student in 2010 was convicted and sentenced to seven years imprisonment with three years of the sentence suspended.
He will serve the four year sentence behind bars.
According to Ibrahim, the Fiji FA Board will meet soon to decide on the vacant Vice Presidents post left by Chand.
Meanwhile, another Fiji FA Vice President, Anil Sharma has been given time to clarify when he will return to Fiji he as has been away overseas and delegates at the Fiji FA AGM raised concerns in relation to his absence .
Ibrahim said if Sharma fails to attend the next board meeting, then Fiji FA will have to decide on his post also.
