The Crusaders were brave and ultra‑competitive to win 36-14 over the Brumbies who couldn’t sustain their early pressure and faded in the second half.

With Test trio Scott Sio, Folau Fainga’a and Rory Arnold rested and David Pocock still sidelined with injury the Brumbies’ depth was always going to be impacted.
The Brumbies took a surprising 7‑0 lead into half time, the lack of fire power off the bench came home to roost in the second half as the Crusaders ran in five unanswered tries before Tevita Kuridrani added a stunning consolation try.
The Brumbies lost winger Toni Pulu and replacement lock Sam Carter to yellow cards for careless high tackles in the second 40.
The 22‑point win saw the Crusaders extend their lead at the top of the Super Rugby standings on 29, where they sit six points ahead of the Hurricanes.
