The Hurricanes overcame enormous odds to secure a home quarterfinal in Super Rugby, topping the New Zealand conference when they took a bonus point from a 35‑10 win over the Crusaders last night.
In a thrilling finish to the regular season, the Hurricanes came from fourth place in the tightly‑contested New Zealand group to snatch first place.
The Hurricanes also moved into first place on the combined table, a point ahead of the Lions, but the Lions have the chance to retrieve first place when they play the Jaguares this morning.
In other matches, the Highlanders defeated the Chiefs 25-15, the Brumbies beat the Force 24-10 to finish top of the Australian conference, the Stormers defeated the Kings 52-24 while the Bulls beat the Cheetahs 43-17.
In today's matches, the Jaguares will host the Lions 9.40am
