Bodybuilders aim to end 15yr SPG medal drought
Body Building Fiji is looking at ending a 15 year medal drought at the Pacific Games next year by roping in overseas based body builders.

President Reg Sanday said the last time Fiji bagged a Gold medal was back in 1995 and this has been the longest drought in the over twenty years of the Association's history.

Sanday said this is one of the reasons they have decided to open up selection to overseas based locals.

However he stressed that while these body builders will be vying for the titles in the open Category, they have ensured that for the prestigious Mr. Fiji title, only locals can compete.

So far, four overseas based reps have confirmed their participation including former Mr. Canada Caine Wendt whose mother hails from Tailevu.

The Fiji National Bodybuilding Championship will be held at the Charman's Gym in Suva on tomorrow afternoon.
