The Blues beat the Highlanders 33‑26 in the Super Rugby last night, breaking a 20‑game losing streak to New Zealand teams which started in 2016.

Blues flyer Rieko Ioane scored two tries while Malani Nanai and Patrick Tuipulotu scored a try each.

Highlanders winger Waisake Naholo was shown a yellow card in the 68th minute after a dangerous tackle on flanker Tom Robinson.

The impact of All Blacks players Ofa Tu’ungafasi, Karl Tu’inukaufe and Patrick Tuipulotu off the bench for the Blues was felt immediately, with their pressure on the Highlanders at scrum time.

Meanwhile, the Hurricanes will take on the Stormers at 6.35 tonight, the Waratahs will take on the Crusaders at 8.45pm while the Sunwolves will face the Lions at 10.55pm.

Tomorrow, the Bulls will take on the Chiefs at 1.05am then followed by the Sharks hosting the Rebels at 3.15am while the Reds will take on Brumbies at 5.05am.
