Big names expected in Flying Fijians squad for June test series

Rio Olympics gold medalist and Toulon winger Josua Tuisova is one of the players expected to make his debut for the Flying Fijians.

With more than a month away from the June test series, Vodafone Flying Fijians coach John McKee is expected to announce some big names of young and exciting players in his squad.

Rio Olympics gold medalist and Toulon winger Josua Tuisova is one of the players who are expected to make his debut for the Flying Fijians next month.

McKee confirms that the other players who have showed their interest including Reds winger Chris Kuridrani, Crusaders winger Manasa Mataele, Pau center Jale Vatubua, former 7s player Viliame Mata and Clermont winger Alivereti Raka.

The Flying Fijians will be playing five test matches next month and July where they will face Australia in Melbourne, Italy and Scotland in Fiji before taking on Tonga and Samoa.

McKee says Levani Botia’s move to the back-row has given him a chance to compete with the forwards.

He adds that the core of the team that played at the 2015 Rugby World Cup will be part of the June test.

They include captain Akapusi Qera, Nemani Nadolo, Botia, Leone Nakarawa, Manasa Saulo, Campese Ma’afu, Peni Ravai.

McKee is currently in New Zealand to meet with some players and will be naming his squad at end of this week.

The team is expected to start their camp on the 31st of this month where they will have a three days camp.

Fiji will take on Australia on June 10, they will then face Italy on June 17 before meeting Scotland on June 24.
