Ba soccer team awarded three points after protest against Nadi

The Ba soccer team has been awarded three points in the Vodafone Premier League after the team’s protest against Nadi has been allowed by the Fiji Football Association.

Nadi had defeated Ba 3-1 at Prince Charles Park and following the match, Ba had filed a protest saying Nadi had not submitted the player registration 48 hours before the kick-off.

Fiji FA’s decision means that Ba now has six points and is fourth in the VPL while Nadi has lost the 1st spot and is now 3rd with eight points.

In another decision, Fiji FA has disallowed Nadi’s protest against Tavua which had to do with the registration of a player from Tavua.

Fiji FA’s CEO, Mohammed Yusuf says the player in question was cleared by them to feature for Tavua.

Meanwhile, Ba soccer goalkeeper, Josaia Ratu has escaped a lengthy suspension and is free to feature for the Men in Black after missing two matches.

Yusuf says Ratu was charged for assaulting a match official and bringing disrepute to football in the match against Labasa however the allegations were not proven beyond reasonable doubt.

The Vodafone Premier League is expected to resume next weekend
