Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says all issues regarding Tamavua-i-Wai Bridge have to be addressed as it is the main entry point into the capital city from the Queens Highway.
Sayed-Khaiyum made the comment to Fijivillage as the Fiji Roads Authority works on checking and addressing issues affecting bridges around the country.
He also says that the FRA will ensure that new bridges are built to last about 100 years.
FRA’s Robert Sen says that the tender is already out for a modular bridge for Tamavua-i-Wai.
The plan is to have the modular bridge ready and then build a new Tamavua-i-Wai bridge.
Sayed-Khaiyum says they are taking all the challenges into account.
Sayed-Khaiyum also says that there is a hive of activity at the moment when it comes to road works because all the planned programmes are underway.
He says they are also talking to some of the external agencies.
