The Yatu Lau Arcade is expected to be fully operational later this month, as most tenants complete their fitouts.

Incoming CEO Matai Korosaya, originally from Vanua Balavu in Lau, says he will officially take up the role from tomorrow.

He says the arcade was officially opened on the 5th of December 2025 by the Tui Nayau and Sau ni Vanua o Lau, Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara, and since then, management has finalised almost all tenant spaces.

Korosaya says about 90 percent of tenants are currently carrying out their fit outs, with December and January dedicated to this process.

He adds that full operations are expected between February 15th and the end of the month, once all compliance requirements are cleared.

Pending works include installing a new transformer, transferring Water Authority meters to the company, and submitting engineers’ reports.

Once these are completed and submitted to the relevant authorities, compliance approval is expected by mid to late February.

Korosaya also highlighted a major upgrade in the standard of tenants at the arcade.

He says the upgraded look and improved tenant mix make the arcade comparable to modern shopping centres like Super Central and Tappoo.

He adds that DMC has taken over the space previously occupied by New World Supermarket, while the food court has been relocated from the ground floor to the first level.

The revamped ground floor will feature boutique kiosks, beauty salons and specialty outlets, reflecting the arcade’s new standard.
