It was a memorable moment for Emori Turagabeci, who travelled from Sydney, Australia to reunite with his family at Suvavou Village after many years away from home.

He is celebrating Christmas and now looking forward to spending the New Year with them before returning.

Turagabeci says coming back home always brings memories of his childhood—spending time around the village and helping his parents.

He says it’s been many years since his last visit to Fiji, and he is happy to be part of the annual Suvavou Village volleyball tournament held during the Christmas and New Year period.

He adds the tournament aims to build cooperation and teamwork among the village youths, while promoting peace and love.

Turagabeci is now looking forward to the New Year’s competition before heading back to Sydney.
