Sitiveni Nakurua Tikoirewa, a resident of Yako Village in Nadi, spent this morning assisting fellow community members with cleanup and restoration efforts after the strong winds and flooding.

He shared with fijivillage News that he had taken the day off work to assess any damage to his farm and livestock.

Tikoirewa says that after lunch, he planned to return to work and charge his phones, and commended the Nadi Town Council for what he described as an excellent job clearing debris in the Nadi area.

He says they are still without electricity and hopes restoration work will be carried out quickly to solve the problem.
