Despite repair works carried out at the Nailawa Crossing in Dawasamu two weeks ago, the recent heavy rain has caused further damages to the crossing.

The Fiji Roads Authority has partnered with Goldrock Company to carry out urgent repairs, which were completed yesterday.

The Korovou District Office confirms these works are only temporary, with the current approach operating under a public–private partnership while discussions continue on a more permanent solution.

However, residents say the problem persists and are urging the government to raise the height of the crossing.

They believe this would help prevent future damages during heavy rain and rising water level.
