The Fiji Roads Authority has announced a temporary full closure of the Wainibau Bridge along Baulevu Road from 8pm this Saturday until 5am this Sunday, to allow essential repair works.
FRA says the bridge will undergo a full deck replacement and other repairs aimed at improving safety and maintaining the reliability of the road network.
During the closure, they explain that a vehicle will be stationed at the Nausori end of the bridge to assist members of the public in case of emergencies.
FRA says the works are weather dependent and may be postponed if adverse weather conditions occur.
Drivers and residents travelling through the area are advised to plan ahead and cooperate during the closure.
