Singapore 7s: Ditavutu double helps Fijiana thump Japan 34-12

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side has finally won a game at the Singapore 7s after thumping Japan 34-12 in their last pool game.

However, this win will not get them into the semi final as they had lost their earlier pool games 35-7 against Australia and 17-12 to the USA.

The Fijiana started strongly with Alfreda Fisher scoring in her debut tournament, skipper Verenaisi Ditavutu picking up a double with Sesenieli Donu, Sera Bolatini and Mariana Talatoka also getting their name on the score sheets.

The Fijiana led 17-0 at half time.

Japan scored through Ria Anoku and Mei Ohtani.

In other games, Canada beat France 29-24, New Zealand thrashed Great Britain 64-0, USA edged Japan 22-19, France thumped Great Britain 32-5, Australia beat Japan 26-19, Canada thrashed Great Britain 52-0, New Zealand annihilated France 55-7, while Australia beat the USA 26-19.
