The Nadi Weather Office says a northerly wind flow prevails over Fiji, bringing unstable weather conditions.
They say severe thunderstorms are expected to produce heavy rain which may lead to flash-flooding of low-lying areas in the next few hours over the interior and southern parts of Viti Levu from Sigatoka through the Coral Coast to Navua, and Southeastern parts of Vanua Levu from Southern Bua to Cakaudrove.
Afternoon and evening thunderstorms are expected, with heavy rain likely over the interior and southern parts of Viti Levu and southeastern Vanua Levu.
People are advised to keep clear of flooded creeks and drains, not to walk, bike or drive through flood waters, unplug computers and appliances, stay indoors away from windows and keep children indoors, stay vigilant and monitor the conditions.
Thunderstorm activity and associated heavy rain is expected until late afternoon or evening.
