Thousands of Savusavu residents continue to face water supply disruptions for the fourth day, and they are calling on the Water Authority of Fiji to find a long-term solution.
Residents say they were hoping water would be restored after the Water Authority posted that it had cleared blocked intakes, with raw water inflows and treatment operations recovering to approximately 70 percent of normal capacity.
However, they say that after waking up today, there is still no water, and they are now wondering when the situation will be fixed.
Residents say the ongoing disruption has been affecting their daily lives and they hope the issue will be resolved before the first term of school begins next week.
Meanwhile, the Water Authority of Fiji says high turbidity at the raw water source is causing low production at the Tavatikau Water Treatment Plant.
WAF has not provided a timeframe for when the water supply situation in Savusavu is expected to return to normal.
