Students of Lomaivuna High School in Naitasiri and Ratu Sauvoli Memorial Primary School in Rewa are set to benefit from modern, safe and resilient learning spaces following the signing ceremony for the construction of a three-classroom block at each school.
The project is supported by Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP), which is providing approximately $900,000 towards the construction of the new classroom facilities.
Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro highlighted that the new classrooms will improve learning environments, support teachers and directly benefit students in rural communities.
He also encouraged school management committees, parents and local communities to take ownership of the new facilities to ensure they serve both current and future generations.
Radrodro expressed sincere gratitude to the Ambassador of Japan to Fiji, Tajima Hiroshi for Japan’s ongoing partnership in advancing education in Fiji.
The signing ceremony strengthens the Fiji–Japan partnership, reflecting a shared commitment to quality education, community development and resilient infrastructure.
