The Senior Pastor of the CMF International Church, Reverend Manasa Kolivuso, has called on fathers to be good role models to their children and know their roles in the family.
While speaking on Fijivillage Straight Talk with Vijay Narayan, Reverend Kolivuso says there was a presentation from a group of young people about the root causes of the drug crisis we are facing in Fiji, and they named fatherlessness as one of the root causes.
He says children learn from their fathers, and if they are not present, it will be a big problem for the children.

He says it is the lack of parental supervision that results in these children roaming the streets, committing crimes and getting into drugs, so they become perpetrators.
He adds that we call them perpetrators of crimes, when in fact some of them are victims themselves of the circumstances they face.
When asked how it can be addressed, Reverend Kolivuso says the father needs to be taught who he is and his role as a father in the family.
