Rewa FC head coach Priyant Manu praises his side for making a positive start to the Pillay Garments Champion vs Champion series, adding that there is still room for improvement after securing a crucial first-leg victory over Labasa FC at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

Manu says the win is particularly important given the number of key players missing from his squad, but he credits the team for stepping up when it matters most.

He adds that there is still room for improvement, especially in ball management and finishing, which he believes will be crucial heading into the second leg.

The Rewa coach emphasises the importance of taking chances in football, admitting that his side could score more goals despite finishing with the advantage.

He notes that the team is still in a building phase, working with several new combinations, including young players promoted from the youth system and new recruits from the Solomon Islands.

He also acknowledges the loyal support from Rewa fans who turn out despite the poor weather, calling it a major morale booster for the team.

Manu gives special praise to development player Arush Lal, who impresses in his outing against senior Labasa player Ashwin Raju.

Meanwhile, Rewa will face Labasa at Subrail Park in Labasa at 1.30pm this Saturday.
