Rakiraki Town has been closed due to flooding.
The Rakiraki Police Station confirmed this to fijivillage News, saying that the heavy rain from last night continued until 7 this morning.
They say the Naqoro Flats area is currently under water.
They also says that although it is drizzling at the moment, the town has been closed for safety reasons.
Meanwhile, the centre of Category 2 Tropical Cyclone Urmil is not expected to move directly over Fiji; however, heavy rain and strong winds linked to the system are already affecting parts of the country.
A Flash Flood Warning is now in force for the whole of Viti Levu, while a Flash Flood Alert remains in force for the whole of Vanua Levu.
A Heavy Rain Warning also remains in force for Fiji.
