Concerns over global fuel supply disruptions linked to the ongoing crisis in Iran were the key focus of discussions between Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon.
Rabuka says he spoke with Luxon over the phone to discuss pressing regional and global developments, with particular attention on the global fuel supply situation, which continues to disrupt international oil markets and place pressure on fuel prices worldwide.
He says they acknowledged the significant implications this has for their economies and the daily lives of people, especially in the Pacific.
Rabuka says they reaffirmed the importance of close cooperation and coordination between Fiji and New Zealand to ensure stability in fuel supply and to mitigate the impacts of the evolving situation on the region.
He thanked Prime Minister Luxon for the constructive discussion and says he looks forward to continued collaboration in addressing these shared challenges.
